A Global Study of Digitalisation in Facility Management
FMgoesDIGI is the largest international Facility Management digitalisation analysis exercise up to date. Project founded by the European Union under the umbrella of the Erasmus+ collaborative program for research and development.
It is composed by 4 partners which are 3 universities: UPM (Universidad Politécnica de Madrid), University Metropolia of Helsinki and DHBW (Duate Hochschule Baden-Wuttemberg) of Stuttgart and by the international consulting firm FMHOUSE.
Many companies, associations, as well as individuals, are collaborating.
The project schedule is scheduled from mid 2019 to the end of 2021.
The project is implemented in English, but there may be partial releases in other languages.
The main objectives of this study are:
- Analyze the state and trends of digitalisation of FM processes at European and international level.
- Create recommendations on what should be studied about digitalisation in Facility Management degrees.
In addition to the reports, workshops and working sessions will be held with professionals from the sector, from the client’s side, as well as from the suppliers, the academic and research world.
The official project deliverables will be:
- Conducting and publishing an International/European study on Facility Management trends in digitization and its impact on the future qualifications and skills of professionals in the sector.
- Creation of a new curriculum for the digitization of service processes in Facility Management.
- Development of training workshops for teachers and academic staff to integrate digital methods in their classes and include them in new Educational Curricula.
- Implementation of new teaching and learning materials in the FM environment.
- Dissemination of new educational programs in national and international universities for the FM industry.
